Saturday : Early departure: Head south in to the central Negev desert. Explore the ancient town of Avdat, "capital" of the Nabatean kingdom in the Negev, which was one of the most important station on the "Spice Route". Explore the impressive "desert city", see Nabatean and Byzantine ruins. Continue south through Maktesh Ramon, maktesh ( crater) is a depression formed as a result of erosion. Cross the border in to Jordan at the Arava crossing. Continue to Wadi Rum, the largest and most magnificent of Jordan's desert landscapes, one of the "legendry" places that Lawrence of Arabia roamed. A two hour jeep ride through the Wadi. Continue north through the land of Edom to Petra.

Arrive in Petra for overnight . First Class Hotel.

Sunday: After breakfast explore the magnificent, mysterious and thrilling Petra. Two thousand years ago the Nabateans carved a city out of the rose red rock. The Nabateans built an empire based on advanced agriculture techniques and control of the area's strategic trade routes. Ride by horse to the entrance of the "Siq", as you venture in this amazing canyon stands 300 meters above your head. Among the sites we shall see at Petra will be: the "Treasury" ( Al-Khazneh), the Roman theater, the Royal tombs, the Colonnade st, the "Monastery" (Ed-Dier), the spectacular view of the Arava valley and the view of Aaron's tomb on Mt Hor. Afternoon departure back to the Arava crossing.

Arrival back in Tel-Aviv aprox. 10-11 p.m.
