  All nine dinners will be typical local Umbrian/ Tuscan cuisine, some at the hotels and others at specially chosen local restaurants. The chef of the hotel  will hold a cooking lesson. The tour will include attending the Spring Festivals: in Betona the "Festa San Crispalto" and in Gubbio "Corsa dei Ceri" and much more...

Saturday : Tel-Aviv- Rome . Orvieto : Dept Ben Gurion airport for Fiumicino Airport, Rome. Drive  to Orvieto which sits on also on a spectacular table-top of volcanic tuff whose sheer sides fall 325m to vine-covered valley floor. Overnight a  good Tourist Class hotel, we have stayed here many times and its location is perfect. (3 nights).  Late afternoon: Visit the ancient Umbrian city of Todi and return to Orvieto.

Sunday: Spoleto: Drive to Spoleto, that preserves the ambience of the middle-ages. Start from the Rocca and Ponte delle Torri, from there we walk to the duomo which houses works of art by Filippo Lippo (1467-1469) and more. Return to Orvieto.

Monday: Orvieto: Morning walking tour of Orvieto, including the duomo the " Golden Lily of Italian cathedrals",  Pozzo di San Patrizio and much more. 

Tuesday (Independence Day יום עצמאות ) -Wednesday:  Toscany:. Drive to Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore, located in one of the most beautiful tracts of Sienese countryside. See the amazing 15^th century frescoes by Luca Signorelli and Il Sodama. Drive to Siena, where we shall tour for a day and half. Among the many sites of the old town we shall see: the Duomo and the extraordinary Campo. Wonder through narrow streets that have not changed since the Renaissance period. Overnight at a Hotel  which is situated a short distance from the “Porta Camollia”. A typical Italian Tourist Class Hotel, we have stayed here in the past, its located near the Gate Camollia to the city, this is a great advantage for our one night stay in Siena. (1 night).

Wednesday: Siena-Bastia Umbra- Betona Later in the day depart to  the small village of Bastia Umbra  drive past the lake Lago Trasimeno, here the Romans suffered one of the worst defeats in their history at the hands of Hannibal. Arrive at a Hotel  located  between Perugia and Assisi,  A very nice typical Italian Tourist Class Hotel, we have stayed here and the location is the best for our daily trips around Umbria. (5 nights).

Evening: Drive to Betona a picturesque village known as the "Etruscan Balcony", as it overlooks the town of Assisi Betona. Attend the Festa San Crispalto the patron saint of the town.

Thursday: Assisi: Drive to Assisi, birthplace of St Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan Order. An extensive tour of the town including the Basilica di San Francesco, its walls are covered in frescoes that span a century of continuous artistic development, by Cimabue, Giotto, Simone Martini and Pietro Lorenzetti.

Afternoon: Cooking Lesson will be held on how to cook some of the famous local dishes. 

Friday: Perugia: Drive to Perugia, capitol of Umbria that stands on a hill overlooking the Tiber River valley.  Visit the Palazzo dei Priori, location of the Galleria Nazionalle dell'Umbria., which holds the entire chronology of the Umbrian art, traced from the Byzantine period through to the fifteenth-century golden age, including works of Perugino and Pinturicchio, Fra' Angelico, Piero della Francesca and others

Afternoon: Visit the famous winery of the village Torgiano, the Lungarotti Winery.

Saturday: Tuscany: Montepulciano – Pienza:  Drive to Montepulciano highest of Tuscan hill towns, endowed with dozens Renaissance palazzi and churches. Continue to Pienza conceived as the Utopian "New Town" by Pope Pius II and the most .

Sunday: Gubbio - "Corsa dei Ceri" Drive north to Gubbio established by the Etruscans. We celebrate along with the local population the vigil feast of Gubbio's patron saint, Ubaldo, the Corsa dei Ceri. It is a nine hundred  year old ceremony which is certainly mind-boggling. Wooden ceri or "candles" four meters high are raced through the town. The origins of this feast is a pagan fertility rite, judging from the phallic ceri that is raised vertically in the town square to roar of the people. If possible we will attend the lunch- time medieval Banquet in the Palazzo dei Consoli, " Banchetto dei Ceri". -----Please note: If we do attend the banquet it will be instead of dinner.

Monday: Pitigliano - Drive to Rome airport – Drive to Pitigliano medieval town perched on a spectacular outcrop of tuff. Known by the Jews in the 14th Century as "Little Jerusalem". Continue to Rome airport, for return flight to Tel-Aviv, landing Monday early morning.
